Status Quo Guitarist Rick Parfitt dies at 68

Status quo Rick Parfitt died in a hospital in Spain on Saturday. The guitarist had been dogged by health concerns for years. Parfitt’s musical partnership with Francis Rossi, which spanned five decades, made Status Quo one of British rock’s most enduring acts. Status Quo found success globally with hits such as Rockin’ All Over The World and Whatever You Want.

Parfitt underwent a quadruple heart bypass in 1997. From then on doctors told Parfitt that touring, drinking and drugs could kill him. Fellow band members payed their condolences for his death. A lot of famous novelists and other celebrities payed their tribute to the loss through social media another communication medium.

It is claimed the veteran musician was taken in after suffering complications from a previous shoulder injury. But picked up a severe infection while he was there.
